As we did last year, we are making an online calendar for Lenten Practices that we can do together, if you wish.  We will share each day’s practice and accompanied posts on our Facebook Page as well.  Share with your friends and celebrate this holy season together.

Day 1: Ash Wednesday, March 1–Attend an Ash Wednesday Service

Day 2: Thursday, March 2–Pray for someone in your community.

Day 3: Friday, March 3–Pay it forward.  Do a kind act for someone.

Day 4: Saturday,March 4–No fried foods today.

Sunday:Attend Worship (Lent is not observed on Sundays)

Day 5: Monday, March 6–Smile and compliment a cashier.

Day 6: Tuesday, March 7–Call someone you have not called in a while.

Day 7: Wednesday,March 8–Listen to “Let It Go” and decide on one thing you can let go.

Day 8: Thursday, March 9–Pray for our government.

Day 9: Friday, March 10–Pay it forward.  Do a generous act for someone.

Day 10: Saturday, March 11–No fast food today.

Sunday:Attend Worship (Lent is not observed on Sundays)

Day 11: Monday, March 13–No Social Networking (Facebook, Twitter, etc)

Day 12: Tuesday, March 14–Spend 10 minutes alone.

Day 13: Wednesday, March 15–Come to our Neighborhood Dinner and sit with someone you don’t know.

Day 14: Thursday,March 16–Pray for your church.

Day 15: Friday, March 17–Pay it forward.  Do something nice for someone today.

Day 16: Saturday, March 18–No junk food today.

Sunday:Attend Worship (Lent is not observed on Sundays)

Day 17: Monday, March 20–Visit or call someone confined in their home.

Day 18: Tuesday, March 21–Write a letter or send a text message to a friend.

Day 19: Wednesday, March 22–Listen to “Happy” and choose one thing you are grateful for.

Day 20: Thursday, March 23–Pray for someone who you do not like.

Day 21: Friday, March 24–Pay it forward.  Do a service for someone.

Day 22: Saturday, March 25–No meat today.

Sunday:Attend Worship (Lent is not observed on Sundays)

Day 23: Monday, March 27–No social networking today.

Day 24: Tuesday, March 28–Read Psalm 139 and pray or journal.

Day 25: Wednesday, March 29–Listen to “Cup Song” and think of someone you miss and what they added to your life.

Day 26: Thursday, March 30–Pray for a world event that concerns you.

Day 27: Friday, March 31–Pay it forward.  Donate to a charity of your choice.

Day 28: Saturday, April 1–No snacks today.

Sunday:Attend Worship (Lent is not observed on Sundays)

Day 29: Monday, April 3–Treat someone to a meal.

Day 30: Tuesday, April 4–Eat a piece of fruit, slowly savoring each bite.

Day 31: Wednesday April 5–Listen to “Humble and Kind” and remember that we are to be as Jesus was.

Day 32: Thursday, April 6–Pray for peace.

Day 33: Friday, April 7–Pay it forward.  Give a special gift to someone.

Day 34: Saturday, April 8–No candy today.

Sunday:Attend Worship (Lent is not observed on Sundays)

Day 35: Monday, April 10–No social networking today.

Day 36: Tuesday, April 11–Pray for someone who you do not like.

Day 37: Wednesday, April 12–Listen to this mash-up by Anthem Lights and let yourself be moved by the music, closer to God.

Day 38: Thursday, April 13–Attend a Maundy Thursday Dinner and service.

Day 39: Friday, April 14–Pay it forward.  Say something affirming to someone.

Day 40: Saturday, April 15–Decide today what you are taking with you from Lent into your daily living.
